White wines
Manos Negras, Torrontes, Salta, Argentina - From super high altitude Salta province, this is Argentina's iconic white grape variety grown in an ideal location made by one of Argentina's top viticulturists. Torrontes is a Muscat type grape and so the wine is fragrant and floral but has texture and weight too. Lovely aperitif. Organic. Vegan.

Domaine de l'Epinay, Pegase Blanc, Nantes, Loire, France - A Sauvignon Blanc / Melon de Bourgogne blend from the Loire made by the Paquereau family. Zingy and fresh. Ideal with seafood, young, fresh cheese and salads or just because... Organic. Vegan.

Red wines
Manos Negras, Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina -  Malbec made its name in Argentina, ideally suited to the sunny days and cold nights of Mendoza. This one is from Uco, high up against the Andes mountains. Alejandro Sejanovich is arguably Argentina's most knowledgeable viticulturist, working as vineyard director for Bodega Catena Zapata for 16 years, he pioneered high altitude vineyard planting. Great with a barbecue which is as Argentinean as tango. Organic. Vegan

Mas de la Font Ronde, Pompon Rouge, VDF, Gard, France - Mas de la Fond Ronde is a mixed 80 hectare farm in the hills of the South of France where horses are used in the fields and vineyards as they are quicker and more effective than tractors and which the same family has been farming for over 300 years. In the vineyards no herbicides, pesticides or synthetic fertilisers are used and in the winery just concrete tanks, no steel or oak, and no SO2. This wine is made from local varieties Aramon, Alicante and Cinsault. Juicy, fruity and tres glou glou. Organic. Vegan. 

Cognettes, Le Pas Rouge, IGP Loire, France - Seventh generation farmers Vincent and Stephane Perraud farm around 25 hectares near the medieval village of Clisson. Nothing backward about their winemaking though, they are bright, clean pretty wines with a characteristic vein of savoury, almost salty character running through them. They're also experimenting with fermenting in Amphora (ok, that is pre-medieval) and very gentle macerations. This wine is made from Gamay and has that grapes abundant fruit and freshness. Lovely with patés, rillettes and the like. Organic. Vegan.

Familia Pacheco, Monestrell, Jumilla, Spain - As the song says, it’s a family affair. With Elena Pacheco at the helm aided by her mother, sisters and children, this small producer in the arid Jumilla region, directly inland from Benidorm, makes wines that are full of sunshine and warmth but retain amazing freshness and life. Low density Monastrell vines planted on limestone soils at 350 to 700m a.s.l. is perfectly suited to the climate give a wine that has aromas of red berry fruits and roses and a rich, smooth palate. Delicious with tapas, paella, or meaty white fish. Organic. Vegan.
