Tastes like Australian sunshine, and ninjas according to the back label. Not sure about the ninjas - never cooked one - but it certainly is full of Australian sun but not in a heavy, over-ripe kind of way. It has plenty of fruit but also balancing grip and acidity. The wine is made by Free Run Juice, an innovative young company that ignores all the rules and does what it think it needs to do to bring accessibly priced and easy to drink wines to the market using non interventionist methods in the vineyard and in the winery - that is organic viticulture, minimal oenological messing about. For this the grapes are sourced from several regions across South Australia. Redcurrant and blackberry with a touch of black pepper. Fabulous with something grilled or with a great pizza. Drink young but it’ll keep happily for a couple of year too.
